Boy With Bikes

The boys have had their bikes for a couple of years now, but never really paid much attention to them until now. We had to buy Mario a new one though because his knees kept hitting the handle bars. So Diego got Mario's old one and Mario got a new one. And well, they couldn't have bikes without helmets and pads.

I think my heart stopped every time they would do this. After they would go up, they would put their feet straight out and glide back down. Almost every time Diego would fall over right as he was slowing down. They did pretty good steering backwards though.

Indiana Bones, Story Teller

This show was a little different. Indiana Bones told a story about Medusa that I'm sure creeped out some of the little kids. He did have a dragon puppet that was pretty funny, but the skull..............well, none of the kids wanted to get close to it.

Pictured with the boys' this time are friends of theirs. The girl that Mario has his arm around is Ali. She was in his class last year and actually they've known each other since they were 3. Ali's little sister is next to Diego, they are also the same age. I think the itty bitty girl is their cousin.

Summer Reading Program At The Library

Every summer, once or twice a week, the Library has all kinds of fun programs for kids. For the first one The Super Silliest Band came and sang and danced around. There is actually three people in the band, but the other lady was off selling copies of their CD. As for the two little girls in the picture, I have no idea who they are or why the jumped in the shot. Oh, well.

A Bag For Me

I don't consider myself a girly girl, but when it comes to bags and purses, I'm as girly as it gets. :)
So, with my new sewing machine and a book called Sew What! Bags, I've been making a new bag about every other day. I like using thicker material so the bag holds it shape better and the other day when we went to ALCO I found a bunch of upholstery fabric that works great.

Water Fight at the Park

Mario's class took a field trip to the local pool and since I didn't feel comfortable having him go with out my supervision (I could have gone but Diego would not have been aloud to swim. Not much fun watching your brother have fun), we called some of the boys' friends and had a water fight at the park!

Spray bottles work so much better than those cheap water guns. They hold more water, too!

Spring Fest 2009

Every year the Parks and Rec Dept does Spring Fest at the Community Center. There's a petting zoo, face painting, singing, soccer registration, a car show, drive in movie, swim lesson sign ups, and a bunch a businesses set up booths and give out candy and info. We got there early enough that we were done before the rain started. It was a bit windy, but luckily none of the canopies took flight and smashed into us this year.

Congratulations Chy!

With my nifty new sewing machine I made these bags for Chaiya's graduation gift. First I made the big one not realizing how big a bag the pattern was for, so then I made a smaller one. I found the swirly fabric in ALCO and automatically thought "Dr. Suess, Oh The Places You'll Go." Then I found the image of the little boy from the book online. Some transfer paper and a paint marker later, and the bags were finished!

I posted a couple videos of them rehearsing and one from the show on YouTube. Just type Shawna31482 in the search box, click, and you will be directed to all my videos I've posted. We will definitely be doing more with the Theater. The boys had a blast!!! There's a Summer Theater Program that we are planning on doing in July. The show will be in August at Watson Lake, the Elks will be closed for remodeling. I don't know what kind of a show it will be, but I'm sure it will be fun.

Happy Easter!!!

The egg spining thing I bought last year is an awsome investment!!! I think I paid $10 for it and it makes the coolest tie dye looking eggs!! The boys love it, too. So easy and so not messy!!! It's a lot more fun than just putting the eggs in the little bowls and waiting.

Diego decided to wear his Easter basket. :)

LOOK WHAT THE EASTER BUNNY LEFT!!!! AN EASTER BUNNY!!!! Her name is Cadette. It was going to be Cad, short for Cadbury, but she turned out to be a girl. Hence the "ette" added to the end.

To house our new addition look what I..............................MADE!!!!! AM I AWSOME OR WHAT?!?!?! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!!! Okay, Okay. Jen across the street helped me a teeny tiny bit. Like 5% of the work, BUT THE REST WAS ALL ME!!!!!!
