The pictures I post from now on will be of better quality. We got a new Kodak yesterday from Walgreens for only $80! And it's pretty, too.
Even though we arrived late, Mario's fault, this years Christmas party was tons of fun. We sang (Carrie's idea), exchanged gifts and ate. The boy's got fun new home made beanies, puzzles and bright dishes. Mario got some army movies and little German army guys with a tank. As soon as we got home he plopped down in front of the tv to watch his movies and played with his toys. I got a spa in a basket with the softest robe that just happens to be my favorite color and Tracie didn't even know it, and pot. I mean, a new pot. For a house plant. A legal one. :)
Every year the American Legion has a Christmas party for the Head Start kids and with the money they get from recycled soda cans they buy gifts for everyone and Santa hands them out. We couldn't go last year because we ended up taking Diego to the E-Room for an out of now where fever of 104 and he couldn't walk. But, this year everyone was healthy and excited to see the big guy!! At one point all the kids got up in front to sing and I thought for sure Mario would be the first one up there, but he didn't want to sing at all, it was Diego that ran on up. They had a lot of fun and got some pretty cool toys. Mario got a Spider Man toy that you shoot a car through the mouth of the black Spider Man and the head explodes. Great, huh? Diego got a dinosaur that walks and roars.
You Are Mashed Potatoes |
Oridnary, comforting, and more than a little predictable You're the glue that holds everyone together. |
Feels like longer! So only after Carrie threatened him, Mario got me flowers. Oh, well, I guess I just have to train him better. :)
At the end of the month we are going to have a party with all his friends, but on his birthday we decided to get a little cake and do a family thing.
Of course Diego had to help blow out the candle. :)
There's this wierd Mexican tradition where the birthday kid takes the first bite of the cake and one of the parents pushes their face in it. This was the first year we've done this.
After seeing brothers face go in the cake, Diego, on his own, smashed his in it. He had blue boogies all night.

It all started on Saturday when little Mario missed his team pictures for soccer due to Mario (big) having to go back on the paper route to deliver a book that he was supposed to insert in the papers and for some reason unknown, did not. Then after the soccer game we got back to the van to find an almost flat tire, flat spare and the day before our portable air compressor broke. That night/next morning when Mario was on the route, the van decided to die and not re-start. So I called our mechanic friend and at 6:30 in the morning he went to Mario's rescue. Did I mention we got a letter the week before from the circulation manager at the paper office saying that they will fire us if we don't get our papers delivered earlier (the van also died the week before in an area where there was no cell service, but started again after an hour and a half). We got the van fixed on Monday just in time for it to get a flat on my way to the newspaper office at midnight, remember, flat spare. With Mario working at his new job we haven't had time to get a new one or even pick our noses for that matter. So, Travis to the rescue. The next night when Mario was on his way home from work, he got pulled over. Let's just say he is lucky he didn't get deported and the van wasn't impounded. Travis to the rescue, again. So, because this is his 3rd time getting pulled over, the coppers know that he doesn't have his licence and he didn't just leave it at home, the kids and I get to go on the route. And the latest bad news is that Emma has Parvo and despite what Mario wants, I'm not going to just let her die. $400 later, she better live.
The count is up to 47. AND there is still 2 more mommies that need to release their babies. AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!
p.s. I don't plan on giving them ALL names, so don't even ask.
So, tonight while I was making dinner they boys were carefully looking in the fish tank. When I asked them what they were doing they said "Looking at the baby fish" Of course I was like "WHAT!" I mean, we've had these fish only for two weeks. Well, sure enough, there swimming around with the cutest little fishy bug eyes were 8 babies. So we fished them out and put them in our 10 gallon tank so the others wouldn't eat them. Okay, Marissa, their names are Happy, Grumpy, Sneezey, Sleepy, Dopey, Bashful, Doc and Moe.
After I put that title I thought "Hey I could put Quick Ketchup!!" Sorry, feelling a little goofy. Maybe it's the chocolate cupcakes covered in cherry pie filling. yum :) So any way, Head Start starts on the 29th and I no longer work there. Both of the boys will be going this year and I will be going as a volunteer to help Diego adjust. Mario got a job at Porkys World Famous BBQ making $10 an hour. YIPPIE! Also, my new pants that used to fit are too big!!!!! The boys got ahold of the camera again, here's some of those pics and some other ones. Enjoy
Diego taking pictures of Mario dancing, I think.
Tonight little Mario informed me that he doesn't want to be giant, he wants to stay small.
Yesterday (Wednesday) we went to Goldwater lake for a picnic and to enjoy the scenery. Grandma (maama), Grandpa (paapa) and Reahna (nanee) joined us. Oh, and Emma and Jenna. When we got there the boys had just enough time to go down the slide twice, then it started raining. But lucky enough, there was no one in the Ramada. So we hung out in there until the rest of the gang joined us. Then we decided to hit the trail. We didn't go all the way around, but did make it more than half way. I was really surprised that Diego made it the whole time walking by himself. Little Mario's tummy hurt so Dad gave him a piggy-back ride on the way back. Maama didn't start out with out with us, but soon caught up. Only after cheating by cutting across.
Today when I got home I noticed the camera not where I had left it. So, when I turned it on I noticed lots of pictures I had not taken. Here's some of them:
There was a total of 93 pictures and 3 videos. From the looks of it, I think 2 little boys had WAY to much fun while I was at work and 1 Dad had a hard time keeping up with them.
